I advertised my apartment on Daft.ie in January 2022 the charge was €75
I advertised my apartment on Daft .ie last week the charge was €265
An outrageous increase .
Any ideas who I should contact to report this ?

You obviously agreed to the charge - you did have the option of using a different advertising channel or channels

That's what (quasi-)monoplies do - charge whatever they want
The solution is to use a competitor - nothing like competition for keeping prices down

Am astonished you even need to advertise in the current market.

As Coyote said above, if it's really annoying you there are other routes to letting it out.
I was amazed at the increase recently also, I decided not to use Daft for the first time ever so I just put it out there using other online mediums and with how high demand is now, I still had a hundred replies in minutes.

The charge to advertise a house for rent on daft is €195 or €209 or €229. I just checked there. That's a ridiculous price increase. People will have to vote with their feet.

I don't see any €265 charge.
Just €135, €149 and €169.

Excuse my ignorance - what are the other online mediums one can use to advertise an apartment in Dublin ?

I was charged €265 for my advert

Contact the HR department in large local employers. They will be delighted and pass your details on.

Yes last time I used Facebook. To be honest, the quality of respondents is not as good as what you get from Daft, but you get what you pay for I suppose. There are so many people looking for places that if you're willing to sift through the bs applicants from Facebook you will still find plenty suitable candidates.

Sometimes the company themselves will enter into a contract with you and lease the property medium term from you to have available for their staff.

It is interesting though. Daft listings are pretty much a barometer for availability and prices… if (esp decent non price gouging!) LL’s aren’t using it then the stats are pretty distorted?

Unfortunately, I don’t think it would really matter.

Daft produce reports that are hopped on by the media and taken at face value without any question of their methodology, accuracy, representativeness, etc
