Could Askaboutmoney take out a corporate subscription to paywalled newspapers?

Is it only gmail addresses?
As far as I know it (characters such as '.' and '+' not being significant and effectively being ignored) is not a feature of the standard that specifies the format of email addresses (IETF RFC 5322) so it depends on the specific email service whether or not they ignore certain characters. I'm only aware of Gmail taking this approach but maybe other widely used services do likewise?

Paying for quality journalism is not a rejection of inclusion.
Journalists aren't charity workers....

I agree - and on this basis I wonder if this site should allow posts outlining ethically dubious ways of by-passing normal subscription routes and rates? Even if legal.
Or am I just being prissy?

Having tested the waters for takers, AAM takes out a corporate subscription to say The Irish Times as outlined by @Howth Head above. Those interested, remit their share of the subscription fee, plus some over-head recovery, say 15%, to AAM. AAM in turn remits the corporate fee to The Irish Times, supplying the email addresses of the individual subscribers.

You may be surprised that corporate rates are often not as good as some of the individual deals/offers.
