Hi,

Does anyone know what the costs are in order to get a tree stump removed or grinded out of the ground?

I have a stump cut down to ground level that I need to get removed.

Any advice appreciated.

Just had that very conversation with a pal yesterday. He paid €120 to have a large tree removed taken away and grinded the stump to ground level. Very good value I thought. The company is based in Palmerstown.

Hi LS400,
Any chance you could find out who they are as I have a tree to be removed also.
Cheers.

Thats a good price alright but I have the tree removed already down to the stump I just need to have it grinded out of the ground now but if they charge that for tree removal aswell it mighten cost to much to get what I need done. Otherwise I would be years waiting for the tree stump to rot away!!

I'm doing it with a hatchet and an axe. It's slow going, but I'm in no hurry and it's costing me nothing.

Yup. A hatchet is a small one-hand jobby, an axe is the big two-hander, like a sledge.

Civic amenity. Cork Co. Co. is €3 entry and €5 for 3 bags of green waste, can't see them charging me much more than €20 in total. Or were you just being pedantic about "costing me nothing"? :)

Out of interest, for anyone that actually had one done, how did they go about it? Only time I've actually seen it done was with those massive machines on the telly, and I'm not sure how you'd bring that down to something small enough to get into my back garden. I presume they don't do it manually; or do they?

Also, when you say ground level, I presume you mean somewhat below ground level? You can't grow grass on a tree stump. :)
