I got my husband a Russel Hobbs Cafe Torino coffee maker for Xmas (cost E65). Not wanting to hurt my feelings he only recently admitted to hating it after I tasted it myself and found it wanting.
Basically the thermos doesn't keep the coffee warm at all. Even though we go through the whole process of boiling water to heat the thermos before allowing the coffee to be filtered into the machine it doesn't maintain the warmth for anything more than 10mins and even at first pouring it's cooler than the ordinary perculator with the heated pat under it.
Anyone have any views about this? Is this normal?
I phoned the shop and they said I could exchange it if it's faulty (which I said it was), but I'm wondering whether it's the whole thermos concept that's faulty?
Can I get another coffee machine in the shop for a lesser value? Husband would rather the old fashioned hotplate (although it can make the coffee a little bitter if left awhile)
