Went up on saturday to desnag most of the things on our list was not done there was a hole in the wall at the side of the fireplace oh my god I could of filled it in better my self it's all caved in and cracked. The nails they left sticking out of the skirting boards are just thrown on the floor. They haven't put a hatch door on the attic I'd say we could loose a lot of heat over that. The window in the sitting room has big deep scrathes in it they didn't even try fix that. There's still paint on the kitchen units. Nearly all the doors in the house don't open without pulling them really hard I asked for that to be sorted. I can't even open the double doors in the kitchen because one is half an inch bigger than the other one and it's all cracked!!! But I'm not even going to complain because it'll prob just hold things up. We'll sort the things out ourselves. Plus im nearly sure yvonne said a builder will take us around and de snag with us that didn't happen so I couldn't ask any questions.
 
hey! i don't believe ya!!! thats disgraceful - i so won't be lettin them away with that if mine is the same, which i presume it will be the same! so what exactly did they fix that you had on the list?
 
they took nails out of skirting boards, they repainted parts of the wall inside that had marks on them. They filled in the hole but really badly it's caved in and cracked!! they put the manual in for the heating, that was originally missing. They haven't taken the paint marks on the kitchen unit. All the doors apart from two are either really hard to open or the key holes aren't lined up correctly so the key can't go in, the double doors my boyfriend had to open with the force of his shoulder because one of them is half an inch bigger than it's supposed,they obvioulsy never bothered gettin a carpenter back on site, they won't but a rad in the sitting room I was told the fire Is a heater. They never finished the back wall there's still capping stones missing. They didn't do anything with the outside of the house there's parts that needed to be repainted there black drop marks over parts of it. God you should see what someone did in both loos I nearly died!!!!!! It was horrible. Had u got anything major on ur list?

oh my God.. but, to be honest i didn't expect that they'll do everything as requested. I didn't see my house yet... after 'de snag'.. but i think we will let our builders to do all missing things.
Did you check water presure?? i hope they fixed that!!
 
hey ritz we didn't seem to have a problem with the water pressure and I put on all the sinks and bath together and left them running for ages to make sure there were no leaks coming from anywhere. I rang the builders myself to de snag yvonne said we will get a call from them in a week or so to de snag hopefully they'll ring me and a builder will walk around and explain why stuff we put on the list wasn't done. I really think the outside should of been painted on parts I mean some parts are really bad if they gave me the paint I'd do it myself!! And at the side of the gate there is a piece of wood screwed onto the wall I asked them to sort that out and they didn't. I hope u didn't have any carpentry problems because they did defintely not get a carpenter back on site. I just hope they haven't got around to fixing everything just yet.

Hey! This was everything that i came across when we were doing the snag - nothing major as you can see... The one thing that will really **** me off would be the banister rail not being filled in cuz it looks desperate! Oh and of course i would like a letter box too ha!!!

SITTING ROOM:
Cracks in the wall
Draft excluder falling off on door leading directly into sitting room
Gaps in the skirting board
STAIRS TO FIRST FLOOR:
Bannister is loose
Bottom of banister rail to be filled in
Hump in the ground at the top left hand side of the stairs - not level, causing creaking noise.
Gaps in skirting board

FIRST FLOOR DOUBLE BEDROOM:
Crack to be filled in over the wardrobe
Saddle board to be filled in
BATHROOM:
Floor is 1inch lower than saddle board - should floor not be tiled like downstairs toilet??
FRONT DOOR:
No letter box
 
Oh god they destroyed both loos I'll need a paint scraper to remove what they did don't mind a toilet brush!!! They must of that a very spicy curry!!! But god both loos, your list isn't mad at all, nothing major. I'm chuffed now that they finally have the maps least we'll get our contracts now.
 
Oh good jayzus that is disgusting! the dirty *******s!!!!!!!! yeah, its not too bad thankfully - had the mortgage man from lisney up today - with the variable rate and the interest mortgage relief at moment its working out at 860/month, the contents/buildings and life insurance will add about 70/month onto that so im well chuffed with that! he reckons in the coming weeks it should go down to about 750/month!!!

Thank goodness they sent contracts today. I didn't get call from yvonne about our house, i think they still doing some work on ours :D (i hope not only in my dreams). well we didn't have any major problems but had "the loo problem" as well, and put it on the list :D.
 
oh my god really did u put that on the list, your right y should we have to clean it!!! I was horrified!!!
Emma ours is working out around that too, but we got morgtage payment protection that's adding on an extra €55 a month that's if we get let go in work they pay for the morgtage and if we got sick were we can't work they make the payments aswell, the fella in EBS recommended it but of course he is he's prob on commission!!
Hopefully ours solicitors will get the paper work tomorrow or wednesday she said they get sent by registered post. I mailed mine to tell him to expect them he said he'll call us in to sign them as soon as! So excited now! That excited I went out and bought wooden floors for the 3 bedrooms ha! It's sad really, I never taught I'd see the day that wooden floors would make me happy
 
ah here, what the hell is going on with these knackers and the toilets??!!! i've got possibly one of the weakest stomach's out there so if i see something like that i'll be throwing up all over the place!!!! best get the fella to check that instead so ha ha!!!! i'll flip if they destroy it though, i'll clean it with their bloody heads!!!!
 
Hey Danielle, yeah we're gettin mortgage protection too so yeah, another 50 on top too! Mortgage man was tryna VHI & Pensions too last night ha!! We're like, eh yeah maybe in another year or so!!!! Did ur floors cost ya much? I'm gettin them for most of the house, except the stairs and landings....

where gettin semi solid in the sitting room and thats 20ft x 12ft so we need like 26.6 sq yards for that and the one i picked is 60sq yrd so its €1600 for that... but im going to wait untill the sales in jan for that to see does it go down. then the hall and kitchen/diner we have tiles for. but we got just laminate in Noyecks for the bedrooms and for the 3 bedrooms it was like 46 sq yards was €1,150 for the lot, but that wasnt any underlay or anyone to put them down! but got lovely tiles for the back of the wall in the kitchen i want to take the white ones down so the new ones will match the floor, just got mosaic ones i love em! He was going mad saying there no need theres tiles already there but i wanted them, say its going to be an awful job to get them off the wall tho. ah well. you have two flights of stairs dont you, you just getting carpet for there? its gonna cost abit for all the flooring isnt it. Im not getting anything done though untll i get the alarm put on and defo not putting anything in it. my da's friend installs alarms, dont know how much it'll cost but im sure he'll take care of it quick enough.

anyone have any idea how you go about gettin the elec put in our own name? and the gas turned on? i wonder when they'll give us a wheelie bin? or would we have to order that or something? i know my friend had to pay the gas company €400 up front becasue she wasnt paying by DD or something... thats a bit much isnt it, only moving into a new house and giving them €400!

the sofa got delivered this morning just got a phone call, its in a storage unit just on Kylemore road, i better go and check it make sure its the right one. knowing my luck its not.
 
So Excited Just got a mail from my Solicitor saying....... I just wanted to let you know that we have received in the Contracts for your purchase please let me know when your available to come in to get the paperwork signed.
whooowho! can you believe they have them! get on to your solicitors girls!
im going up at 4.30 today to sign the 1st lot of contracts!
 
I just got a call from Yvonne to say that the contracts are gone and that the builders will be on site this week to go through the snagging....!!!!!! SO EXCITED NOW!!!!!! Gonna ring in sick on Friday and get everything done, we still have to open a joint account too....!!!!!!!!!
 
Ring the ESB & Bord Gais and they will turn it on for you. Yeah, i heard it was a €400 charge if you don't pay DD. I had to pay €150 when we moved into the flat because we are renting so i'm hoping that i won't have to pay €400 because i'll just be doing a house move with my account, same with Bord Gais.... Wheelie Bin, you'd have to ring the council and get that ordered....

Oh really? Would your friends dad be interested in a nixer perhaps? Any chance you could find out his charge??

Has anyone here got one of the 3 storey houses? Just wondering what your plans are for the bedroom window on the top??!! Looks like it'll be an awkward one for blinds etc!!
 
Just rang the solicitor and they have received the contract... i can go up this week to sign it. They mentioned something about a 23k deposit that i needed?????? I was like, i paid the 3k that i was asked to pay but know nothing about another 23k!!! He said he's ring DCC to see if they would accept just the 3k!!!
 
i never said it to yvonne that i did the de snag im going to wait untill they ring me and go up coz i want to talk to a builder about some of the stuff!
ring your solicitor see has he got them, make an appointment for friday and go up and sign them while your organsing everything.
the elec is already on in the house, so id say just get it put in our name, i'll have to ring them when im not busy in here, im all excited now i cant even work!

ye i'll defo say it to my da.. i cant imagine it being that expensive esp as seen as the house is already wired up for it. my da said he'll get the alarm and everything. im sure he'll have to come out check out the house see how many windows doors and that for sensors.

an id say you'll just have to carry over that account they cant try squeeze more money from u! wouldnt put it past them tho.

i love that room in the attic its really lovely, but havent a clue about a blind.... did they have anything in the show house?? unless your just gonna have to put up side curtains or would they look stupid? or what about one curtain that just drapes across and is caught to one side... and just let it down when ur sleeping or whatever...
