Class D HSE pension

Older relative worked in HSE 35-ish years ago.

PRSI record shows Class D PRSI payments for the 6 years they worked there.

Subsequently moved to private sector & has the regular PRSI from then on.

According to the HSE, as the employment was greater than two years, the pension benefit remains in place.

So here's the question, how to calculate any pension that might have accrued* & how to claim?

*very aware this will likely be small amount.

That is final salary for the equivalent grade today at normal retirement age (60). With the possible exception of some possible special allowances in the meantime - this is variable by grade and role.

If the €80k is today's equivalent for the grade position he left on. So 18*80k/80 lump sum and 6*80k/80 annual pension (€18k and 6k).

pretty sure thats more than they were expecting! So worth chasing up.

Cool - thx again!
