When submitting a Med1 claim on my annual tax return, can I claim for the cost of a doctor's report in respect of accident claim?
Thanks
Thanks
If........there is a claim payout, it could take years.I imagine it will ultimately be refunded as part of the claim payout no? Therefore as their is no expense for you, you can't claim tax relief
If it required a visit to and examination by the doctor then I would have assumed that it qualified for medical expenses tax relief. But that's just my hunch...However, I doubt if a medical report of the type you mention is recoverable.

What upset? In the unlikely (in my experience) event that they audit the medical expenses claim and deem something to not qualify they'll just exclude it from the tax rebate calculation. I very much doubt that there would be any further implications.wondering if its worth upsetting Revenue if they did do an audit on your claim and its not covered?

Road Traffic Accident or other type of accident?can I claim for the cost of a doctor's report in respect of accident claim?
There are several million taxpayers in Ireland. I include corporate taxpayers and LPT units here.I prefer to keep the good side of them
Personal income taxpayers familiar with the rules making Med1 claims in good faith have very little to worry about.Unless you are a very large taxpayer no one is going through your file.
