Chronic traffic through the town but it will be bypassed. Someone got killed on the main street there recently. The locals know how to go around on the back streets. There is a creche run by the health board in the town itself and my sister uses the one that is on the Limerick road, it has a large garden, just after the Church but before the Hotel which was being rebuilt, stopped for 2 years and is being rebuilt again. If you have school going kids there is a bus service run by the creche that brings the young ones for out of school hours care. Good school right in the town. You need to talk to a local to find out the 'bad estates' The prices should tell you though. As it's a small town, not so nice and good areas are right beside each other as is the case everywhere in Ireland. Very easy to commute to Limerick or Cork. I think Charleville is considered midway. There is no real problems in the town that I know of and I have a lot of relations living there so I'm not naming the bad areas! Lovely 27 hole golf course close by, and very reasonable prices- by city standards. Card games most nights in one of the pubs, big tradition in Cork - they play 45 and not 25. There is also a amature playhouse (theatre). Lidl have a hugh warehouse, newly built nearby providing employment, in addition to their store. Dunnes is going ahead. Nice town all in all, plus the train service is brillant as a lot of Dublin/Cork trains stop there - think it's something to do with the golden vale factory so it's good for commuting. I recommend you ask one of the auctioneers for a short term rental so you can get your bearings. Brindle Hill 3 bed semi d's are about 700/800 a month rent.
