Hi all, looking for some pointers whilst I wait for Revenue to respond to my enquiry. Myself and spouse are both PAYE taxpayers. We disposed of an asset in March 2024 and paid the CGT in August 2024 via My Account on the Revenue.ie. I know we now need to complete a CGT return but I am unsure if this can be done on-line through My Account or if we need to complete a paper form and if so which one. We also have health/dental expenses to claim which we normally do through Revenue.ie/ My Account so should we deal with this separately or can the 2 be combined on the one from (if that makes sense?) Thank-you.

You download a PDF CG1 for 2024, complete and upload as an attachment in myenquiry to Revenue. It is separate to the annual Tax Return you file via your Revenue myaccount.

You can't file a CGT return via MyAccount, nor bizarrely via ROS, but you can submit a PDF copy of a signed CG1 via MyEnquiries.
