Don't shop in SuperValu but haven't had that problem elsewhere - Lidl, Tesco, Dunnes. Curiously, in Lidl you scan the voucher like regular groceries while with the others you only scan them at payment time.In Supervalu anyway, one voucher is no problem but try to scan a second voucher assistance is called for, not sure if its the same with all their self service tills.
Go to a regular checkout rather than the self-service one?Once you've spent enough to cover the vouchers of course you should be able to cash in more than 1 voucher surely, any work arounds.
Not only that, SuperValu branches won’t accept vouchers generated in other SuperValu branches. And I presume that a voucher from, say, Lidl, can't be redeemed in, say, Tesco?
that is annoying. This was the case initially in Lidl but was rectified; can sort of see the business case with Super Valu as they are individually owned but for the sake of a few Euro its probably worth their while relaxing this. Most people will redeem the voucher where they returned the bottles. Not only that, SuperValu branches won’t accept vouchers generated in other SuperValu branches
I've done that several times too.Its amazing how quickly my amnesia kicks in: I return the cans/bottles (normally no more than 10) and put the voucher in my pocket, pick up 5-7 items, use the self-service check-outs and forget to redeem the voucher...!
