Cash for Gold Ireland

As in buying old gold jewellery for scrap? If you are in Dublin Martin Gear Jewellers in city centre used to buy it up to a few years ago anyway, imagine they still do, better terms than any of those pop up cash for gold shops but ring around and get the price per gram to compare.

Yes, you post them your old gold, they weigh it and ring you with a valuation. Is it trustworthy? You send your gold, what's stopping them from just keeping it?
 
Exactly why I didn't use one of them! I preferred to go to Dublin and hand it over in person plus it was a better price, day trip on train plus a bit of shopping.
 
Martin Gear had an ad on the radio about 3 weeks ago, it was either Nova or Q, and yes, they are still buying gold. The jingle is still ringing in my ear "5 Mary Street".
