I have applied and been approved for Carer's Leave from work, I applied for the full 2 years. From what I've read, the duration of carer's leave is flexible and it can be ended early
-if the care recipient dies
-if the care recipient no longer needs care
-if the carer is no longer in a position to provide the necessary care
My question is, is this flexibility statutory. In my case, if circumstances change after 6 months, do I have a statutory entitlement to return to work early after giving a certain amount of notice. Or would my return be at the discretion of the employer. My employer plans to hire somebody on a temporary basis to replace me for 2 years. If I return early from leave my employer would be paying two salaries until 2 years have elapsed.
