If someone is a moron then family connections might get them the interview but not the job (unless the connection is a politician on the interview panel for a State job) and in the real world it certainly won't allow them to keep the job on the off chance they do get it.
If the parents play golf with the employer and they have Trumpian Russian prostitute type photos from a golf trip then that's a different story.
