Hi, we have our house up for sale right now, this is the first time we have ever sold a house before so didnt really know what to expect.
The house has been up for sale since November, and up to now we have only had one viewing.
Our estate agents have called us on the phone once since November, to tell us about the viewing, they also told us that we would be showing the viewers around as they are not open on weekends.
When they came round taking pictures of the house they only took pictures of the living room and the outside of the house and nothing else. I asked if they would take pictures of the other rooms, the EA just said that theres plenty of time for that at another time.
When the pictures went on their website we saw them and they were so dark that you couldnt make anything out at all, we called them to tell them about it and they told us to take more pictures and send to them via email.
They also got our address wrong twice online and in the leaflet. Also got the price of the house wrong as well, one website had the right price another website was 20k out??? It still to this day says 4 bed house, even though its 3 bed and we told them to change it five times in the last few weeks.
As I said we have never done this before, but I would have thought they would have had more contact with us at least? We had no feedback from the one viewing.
We cannot make personal phonecalls from work so have had to contact our EA via email a few times, all emails have been ignored.
Today we called them as we are off work, to tell them we are cancelling the contract with them and going with another EA. They just said "oh, ok, will take your house offline today" then, believe it or not put the phone down on me.
The thing is, they didnt explain anything, as in, what happens to the "for sale" sign outside? do we take it down? do they come pick it up? also, I feel uneasy that we apparently dont have to sign anything to cancel the cotract?
Have we had a bad experience or is all this normal?
Thanks.
