Plan to get the Miele Cat and Dog Hair hoover and notice people here advising that you should also get a special fitting for solid floors - I asked the shop about this and they said there was no need as the fittings that come with it are designed for solid floors anyway - is it worth spending extra money on other fittings - I'm not sure if they are even readily available. Thanks

I vote Miele too - really pleased with it. BIL has a Dyson, and it's useless! I used it when it was brand new and it did a very poor job. A few years on, it's falling apart. Don't get me started on the grossness of emptying it - I'm still traumatised
Would this apply to all bagless vacuum cleaners?
