Yes. They are only for a set amount of time - usually a year. After that they are normally rolled over into another year & you pay an o/d renewal fee. Tho sometimes the bank may not renew.
This was one of the issues brought up in the Prime Time Special. They let if expire to catch you out and if you object then they will fix it up again so shout out loud.
