callback "scam" from Irish higher rate number 076 888 9178?

had a missed call from a 076 number.
Apparently it is similar / same to 1890 numbers with higher charges than usual from the mobile - 35c per minute

Called back (screw the 35cent!) and there was just some call-service-type center behind it)

So if you get a missed call from 076 number - ignore it.

It's hardly a scam! 076 is the standard prefix for non-geographic VoIP numbers. Anyone with an account with blueface.ie or other Irish VoIP provider has an 076 number. I have a couple of unused ones myself from years back. It's only the Telcos ripping you off for 35c/minute from a mobile. There's no way the caller is making money out of it.
