My two yearly eye tests are free under PRSI. If I need an eye test in Specsavers every other year I think that it is only about €40.

I'm interested to know how much your tests costs and where do you get them done.

I was in the Eye and Ear hospital recently and they have the same machines to test your eyes as Specsavers.

My Optician is Gill Opticians in Dalkey
The cost of a full eye test and OCT retinal scan is €100
I'm not entitled to any of the free perks from PRSI so have to pay for this and dental check ups
But as the Laya policy I had last year covered €99 of the eye test it only cost me €1
Going forward if I stay on this plan I'll only be able to claim 50% of the eye test cost
