Buy house in Carrs Mill Donabate

Thinking of buying a house in Carrs Mill Donabate and heard a few rumours there have been issues with sound proofing and pyrite. I have been informed that the sound proofing has been fixed but am more concerned about the potential of pyrite as this could be a huge problem if it developed. I know this is an issue in lots of developments across North Dublin so just wondering if anyone has experieenced this in Donabate.
Has anyone got any other feedback on Carrs Mill or life in Donabate in general?

Hi did you ever get an answer to that, @Fella1977? Dis you finally buy the house?

Aware that is a very old post but since I stumbled into it recently looking for the same information and was pretty sad finding no answers , I'll just add the outcome of my own research at the time here:

I was involved in a number of pyrite remediation projects throughout my time.
• Carrs Mill, Donabate - 46 Units

So tl;dr is:
- Some were affected and remediated.
- To be certain, request a Green Cert (at the cost of ~3k and 2 BIG holes in the floor (~50cm diameter)) that confirms the house is pyrite-free.
- I ended up buying after agreeing with the seller to get the Green Cert (and required testing) that confirms the house is pyrite-free, we agreed to split the cost. I am happy to not having to deal with the unknown and to not having the needs of having the same pyrite conversation with a potential buyer in the future.

Hi everyone,

We are now facing the very same situation. The estate agent is telling us there is no need for a cert as the neighboring house is free. PyriteFan , have you heard much more about this issue since moving in? Would love to chat to you more about this one and it how it all turned out.
