Any volunteers to write an FAQ on Affordable Housing?

A lot of questions are repeated on Askaboutmoney. It would be very helpful if someone could write an FAQ on the topic.

It doesn't have to be perfect. I have written many FAQs with only a limited knowledge of the subject. People will post corrections and additions quickly and you can edit the original post.

The Key Post on the topic is very old but could be a good place to start:

Hi Brendan,
That's a great idea.
But the problem, is the Affordable Housing schemes seem to vary totally from council to council, there doesn't seem to be any one way of doing anything.
And the councils don't give out much information about it either. For Dublin, the website
http://www.affordablehome.ie/home/index.aspx
seems to give some info.
For the other councils, there is initial information available from the individual councils, but not much after that.

I thought about volunteering to write something, but decided against it! Even though ive actually gone through the process i dont feel confident in describing it accurately to others..as the whole thing is a confusing minefield to be honest  Im in agreement with bubblebunny, the councils all do their own thing and give limited information..and the experience ive gone through is certainly not written in a brochure anywhere!

Brendan I would be happy to help there is not enough information out there that is fact based. Lots of talk in pubs this happened to people’s sister’s cousin’s friend etc. The local authority websites and information packs only give details on how to apply but very little information on the process after that stage. I have read the Act but it is more a guidance document for the LA's. Well done on suggesting this as the ignorance surrounding the process is unbelievable.

The EBS launched an Affordable Housing DVD today with information on the process. Apparently they are being distributed to local CO CO Offices, or you can pick one up in an EBS branch,
