Hi, I've spent a long time looking for a net curtain type option that isnt a net curtain (and isn't white). I've found an organza material I love, but being a bit dumb on fabrics can anyone tell me
- is organza too sheer (i.e. offer no privacy whatsoever, so waste of time hanging it?)
- does organza hang OK for curtains or is it too stiff?
- what type of curtain top would suit? I was thinking tab top but this fabric might not hang properly in tab top?

Anyway, would love any advise on this before I invest my money.

Thanks.

Hi,

Not too familiar with organza but am I right in thinking that its usually used for dresses possibly debs etc.? If so I would imagine its not suitable but it might be best if you were to ask in possibly Hickeys or Harry Corrys. Give them a call as they will set you straight.

Hi there, thanks for the reply but the fabric shops all say yes you can make curtains from them but I get the impression that they are saying that just to sell it to me!

I think I'll chance it anyway.... :)

Hi - have you looked at voile?

It's perfect for 'Net' Curtains and comes in many different colours and designs

Hi Bee - I've never been able to find voile in anything other than white or cream. Could I ask where you would have seen it in other colors?

Thanks.

I've definitely seen it in Hickeys(Home Focus) in Blanchardstown, can't think of anywhere else at the moment though.

Thanks again. I've found the most gorgeous painted voile in terracotta in a wee shop down the country. Thanks for the pointer.

Could I ask what's a good heading or top or whatever it's called for voile? Is it a choice of tab top or those ring things?

Thanks again.
