Health Insurance Alternatives to VHI OnePlan500

Hi there,
My OH and I both are on OnePlan500 with VHI, renewal coming in at €1,561.02 for the two of us.

No medical history, we're 33 & 34, physio would normally be the most-useful perk to us as we're both quite sporty.

Probably looking at a first child within the next 18 months.

Are there any alternatives around? We're happy with high excesses, shared rooms etc.

Hi. I am on the same plan . I noticed smart plan 500 is like it. But a little cheaper. Have a look.

Smart plan has a smaller range of Hospitals and the €500 excess isn't limited to 2 per year.

Just off the phone with VHI and yes it appears to be mainly the case that in the event of an MRI being needed, the smart plan doesn't cover all hospitals and they said just call them in advance (which is a good practice anyway). Being in Dublin, it's not a big issue for us.
