Alternating tread stairs - plans needed

I have a carpenter/joiner doing some work on my house at the moment, and want to have a set of alternating tread ("space saver") stairs installed. There are several UK companies offering custom made kits - none of them offer the total rise needed, however (it's an odd size).

Although he's never made one of these from scratch before, we are both confident in his ability to do so. Has anybody come across paper plans, a design service, or design software for these stairs?
 
I don't know about design service or software but I would do some image searching of the type of staircase you require and draw up your own plans from the pictures you find. An experienced carpenter shouldn't have much trouble I would guess...

Stairplan is one of the suppliers that I'd looked at.

These stairs are deceptively simple - until you try to envisage the detail. The "go" of each tread overlaps, so carpenters familiar with conventional stairs become totally lost.

I've spoken today to the people at www.stairbox.com - it looks as though they will be able to make something suitable, and I like the "open tread" design that they offer.
 
my brothers (letterfrack graduates) built a space saver stairs themselves from scratch up to the dormer bedrooms in a family member's house. Left the threads open. Very easy for me to send u a photo of it if ud like (just pm me). I wouldnt be used to stairs at all and find these a bit tricky getting down, going up seems no problem at all.

I'd be delighted to see pictures of that staircase, it that's not too much trouble for you. There's a slight snag with buying from Stairbox - they don't organise shipping, leaving that to the customer. The consignment would be fairly bulky and would almost certainly require the use of a forklift, making the shipping costs expensive.

Mystic, it mightn't be as dear as you might think. I bought a big sink and toilet from Manchester (on ebay) two yrs ago, and had it shipped for £50.00. The seller did organise the transport, but I was surprised at the cheap price. Maybe ask the name of their normal shipping Co in the UK and give em a bell.
 
An accurately drawn section through the stairs will give you all the information you need. I've prepared drawings for such stairs in the past and haven't had any problems in getting them built. An architect or architectural technician would easily prepare all the information you'd need to give to a joiner.
