Please be kind. I know nothing about this other than I should know something about this.
We moved to Ireland 6 years ago from South Africa. We kept our house in S.A. which we're renting, and we have since built a house in Kerry.
My husband and I have an old will in South Africa which hasnt been updated in years, and we have nothing in place in Ireland. I obviously fear the outcome if one or both of us passed away.
Is it possible to draw up a single will that covers assets (and tax law and probate and all the horrible stuff) for both countries in one single legal document.
If yes, can anyone refer me to a solicitor qualified in these types of wills. (Of course Kerry would be great but its important enough to travel to Cork, Limerick or Dublin)
Why do I feel that the word "Will" is the wrong one.
By the way, if, God forbid, both my husband and I died, our dependents are in South Africa. I suppose that adds further complications to an already intricate mess.
Thanks for any advice.
