Waiting on the documents to be finalised on the finance side. When I get these I can shop around. Will post my findings here.

If OP is the car owner she has had a claim made against her.
Any claim like this is actually a claim against both the vehicle owner and the vehicle driver.
If proceedings had issued the owner and the driver would have both been joint tortfeasors and appeared as co-defendants.
The principle is that the driver would be regarded as the owner's agent for whose negligence the owner would be rendered vicariously liable.
Yeah, I thought I had heard something along those lines before..........nasty isn't it?

If you don't know the first thing about insurance, just don't comment. Your comments mislead people and cause undue stress to people who stumble on this thread.
The fact that insurance policies (since about 2016) mention tyre tread, does NOT automatically mean insurance is invalidated by lower than legal tread. In practice, this is determined by an investigation to determine whether the tyres contributed to the incident, whether the owner has been generally negligent when it comes to vehicle maintenance, and the contribution of other forms of negligence of vehicle maintenance.
Keep your tyres legal to avoid ambiguity, but don't assume your uninsured on that basis.
