Sorry to be slightly off topic but I`m sittin` here all sunburnt after a very warm May and just wondered when and where there was icy road conditions recently?:cool:

I was thinking exactly the same...where was there ice recently?

excuse me . the only thing i changed was that it was my sister. as one poster said so what if i did. i just thought it would be easier to write the post that way. the events are the same

yes my sisters car was stopped when she was hit. she wasnt veered out far enough to cause problems for any on coming traffic but when the other person decided to go around her then she obviously was in harms way.to me thats dangerous driving. what would have happened if a car with 4 kids was coming on towards her.

this happened in march so we had lots of ice then. to sum up

1. car in front of sister jammed on brakes
2. sister then hit brakes and avoided car in front (veered slighlty to right)
3. car behind sister didnt hit brakes in time or was too close and decided to try and go around her, hit sister in side and drove her upside down - to me she must have been goign at some speed to do this and i cant understand in my mind why she wud try and go around her. either she hits the brakes or goes way out on the road to avoid her fully - she did neither

some earlier poster said this "I asked earlier - how far behind was the second driver? If your sister can't say and didn't spot the ice, what was she paying attention to - the car in front? Careless driving?
"

of course she was paying attention to the car in front. are you saying she should be looking behind her and not in front of her while she drives ??

to be honest it does seem like two wrongs. my sis was going to leave it at that until she found out she was being charged and sued. how can the guards charge her when there were no witnesses?

If it's all so crystal clear then why do you think your sister is getting done for careless driving?

cos the other party could know the cops. cos they have to be seen to do something?? or is it just precedure for them to charge someone for careless driving if another party makes a statement and blames them in that statement?

maybe rmelly. thats a good point. we never thought of that. thanks for all replies - even the nasty ones :-0
