I have an insurance policy on my rented house with 123.ie. A clause states that if the house is occupied by a family, one member must be in full time employment. Is this legal? Both parents are on Soc. Wel.

Also, can anyone recommend a good insurance company for property investments? Not impressed with 123.ie.

I'd imagine it is if it is covered in the contract

Buildings or contents? Note that 123.ie are brokers, not insurers.

Re: 123.ie

yes its legal alright - Insurance companies can put almost any clause into a contract as long as they have "statistical evidence" to back up thier reasoning behind said clause.

Re: 123.ie

a reputible company is Benchmark who are underwritten by AIG - premiums are very reasonable, but the only downside is that you have to go through a broker

Re: 123.ie

Are they suggesting that social welfare people may be less than honest in comparsion to working people?
