bmw 320d, does my car have an alarm?

I've had a 320d SE for the past couple of years, but I dont know if it has a built in alarm or not.......it's a June 2007 reg.

I think it might have an alarm, but how can I tell ?
I never heard the alarm....

When the car is locked there is a red light which flashes continuously on the mirror attached to the main windscreen....is this an indication that there is an alarm ?

How can I make the alarm go on to test it, without breaking the window with a hammer.
 
My 2001 3 series does , so I would presume yours does.

Easy way to check , lock the car with the remove locking while sitting in the car. Alarm should start after about two minutes.
 
or else leave a window down loack the car and try and open it without keys.
 
I'd be amazed if it doesn't have an alarm and immobilizer. Why not phone a BMW dealer with your chassis number and you should get a definitive answer!

Is this related to an insurance quote?
