Hello I'm currently in the process of setting up a business that requires me to perform credit checks on potential clients. Has anyone any experience dealing with this? how would I access this kind of information?

Unfortunately you will have to conduct the credit checks yourself as only members of the ICB (Irish Credit Bureau) has access to credit reports. Of course you could ask the potential clients to get their own credit report from ICB and then issue you with a copy.

Thanks for the advice I think I will have them print out the report and send it to me themselves. I have another query (I should probably start a new post for this)

Ok If I want to set up a direct debate payment from my customer to me...

1. Can I have a web page with a copy of the direct debate mandate and have them tick a box and would this be a valid mandate?

2.If I emailed them a copy of the mandate and they printed it signed it and faxed it back would it be valid? or would it no longer be an original form therefore void.

3.If my bank tried to collect payment from my customer on the agreed date according to the mandate and their was insuffiecnt funds in the customer's account would I be able to instruct my bank to try and take the money again the next day or week?

Thank you for your help
Carl

I would be really surprised if anyone was willing to do this for you. I certainly know I wouldn't for well know business, let alone a new one.
