New renault clio for 9k with scrappage deal - peoples opinions wanted

hi,

What do people think of this offer. Its not for me but im thinking of recommending this to my mum. She currently drives a clio and likes it but its getting old and will need a service soon i think.
Offer looks pretty good to me - new car for 9k.. or is it still better to go to the UK or buy one thats a year or two old.

I'd be more inclined to look at a Toyota Aygo @ 8.5k or a Yaris @ 12k rather than the Renault . . with a view to keeping it for 10 years.

What is the VRT on this car?
That is what puts me off ever buying a new car in Ireland (and the pot holes!)
