Hi Guys!
Can anyone recommend a good place to watch the Disney Fireworks Display in Orlando. I would love to have a nice meal during or before/after the display and preferably somewhere romantic/special as it will be my Birthday. I dont really want to go to the park itself. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks a mil

What about Downtown Disney? There is no charge for entry down there and some of the restaurants are very good.

I found it impossible to get good food in Disney and almost impossible to get anything good anywhere in Orlando.

I would recomend the California Grill in the Contemporary resort. Its on the 15th floor and has a specacular view over the park.

We were there at halloween and had a spectacular meal (a little bit more expensive than most of th Disney restraunts) and we had a table next to the window with a view of the park and fireworks. It was the last night of our holiday and was a cool way to end it.

I wold recommend requesting a table next window on the park side, when your booking.

I have to agree with you Purple. Some of the restaurants can be good - the Irish bar has remarkably good food for Orlando. I've found (in general) that I have to lower my expectations for good food when I'm in Theme-Park-Land.

OP- Bruce's suggestion is great although you may find that if you are travelling at a peak time or when Disney Free Dining is in operation that the restaurants tend to book up loads in advance. Have you tried asking the same question on the Disboards? http://www.disboards.com/

Thanks a mil for ur ideas... GreenQueen thanks for the other site, I never even heard of that one and is very helpful. Bruce Wayne thank you for ur recommendation, I read about that restaurant and another one in the Floridian that's meant to be good. Is there some sort of a night cruise where u can watch the display and have dinner or am i wrong on that one?

Another thought!! how about going to Celebration. There is snow fall on the hour every hour from 7pm to 10 or 11 for 5-10mins. The fireworks are supposed to be spectacular (as they all are in Orlando) You could position yourself by the beautiful lake and watch arm in arm, hand in hand and enjoy the beauty of Celebration.

Hi MaryBM... Were not going until end of February. Thank u very much for ur idea. Ive left it to my boyfriend to organise as its my birthday then :)

Apparently the fireworks display did not happen in Celebration this year (or should I say last year) You would want to check places out closer to your travel time. We always went to Universal - enjoyable but crowded. Great meal in Hard Rock (world's biggest) before getting in the fireworks.
