How to dismantle the Irish government

We need a complete regime change.

Are you sure you're not Enda Kenny?

It's very easy to say we need a complete regime change. However, what would you replace it with? Or are you just one of those people who use that great expression "something should be done about it"? You've specified the "it", what's the "something"?

I'm certainly not Enda kenny. The whole point of this thread is to find out how we should go forward.
We've had a good suggestion so far by forming a 'None of the Above' party. Just voting in Fine Gael instead of Fianna Fail isn't going to change much.

Do you have any ideas to contribute?

I think we need ideas from you, most people are happy to vote for the best candidate/party available.

You are talking about voting in such a way that no one will represent you.

Who do you want to represent you? The army? The guards? Do you just want to call the shots yourself and wonder how you go about achieving that?

Are you getting to a point that democracy does not work as nobody worth voting for is interested in going into politics?

It's hard to come to any conclusion other than set up your own political party if you are not happy. If enough people feel the same way good luck to you.

Maybe set up a Facebook page setting out your aims and see if you can get enough people interested?

But you'll have to be have more specific principles than "everyone in leinster house is a gombeen"

I agree voting FG in instead of FF isn't going to change much, but go forward where? I'm assuming a military coup is off the agenda here !!

To me, whilst forming a political party is a valid idea, it is a bit like putting the cart before the horse. There is a serious need for a philosophical discussion in this country as to what kind of Ireland do we want to live in. As a nation, collectively we got greedy (and I know someone will post on here saying "I didn't"), but I do think we have changed greatly in the last 15 years, not always for the better. Therefore the question is, what kind of Ireland do you want to live in?

Start a new political party.

This is the best way in my opinion, and although there has never been a better time to do it, it is fair to say that it is highly unlikely that a new party can form and sweep to power in the next general election.
