I see that the new BMW 520D will have band B road tax whether it is specified in manual or automatic. The current 520D moves into band c for the automatic, pushing up the price dramaticaly. Many people are opting for the manual option now and this will kill the value of their car when the new model arrives.

Even better the 530 and 535 d are all in band D

tax is the same as an old 2.0 I could defo live with that for a 535d

the 520d has been band b since 2008 iirc at 156e per year to tax, but the auto is 302e to tax since 2008.

whats great is that BMW 3.0 petrol engine is only 600e odd to tax!
