Hi

I do websites occassionaly. Was wondering if somebody could recommend a software package for building logo's. I am hoping to find one which comes with a large number of template images/logo's for different industries and then allows you to customize them.

Ideally with like to find some free software

Thanks

There are several web template websites around.
There are also free logo websites available.
These can be good for inspiration, but...

You get out what you put in.

  • 10% inspiration
  • 90% perspiration
That hasn't changed.

Software is like anything else - its a tool your mind can use.
It cannot replace the necessary creative process.
Or the artistry of the human hand and eye.

That said, Google is your best friend.

GIMP is a free image manipulation tool. [http://www.gimp.org/]

It is a substantial enough package and can take a bit of gettings to grips with. There are a lot of tutorial sites available [http://www.ghuj.com/] if you have a bit of time though. There are also plenty of free add-ins to get you started with templates, etc. [Google things like GIMP brushes]

When I did them, I designed them with pencil and paper first. It was just quicker than using a computer.
