Anyone know how to go about buying Man United tickets. Am looking at trying to get 2 tickets for the Man Utd V Burnley game on 16th Jan (to be confirmed yet) for my hubbie and son. Would appreciate any pointers and advice from all ye soccer-knowledgeable people. Not interested in ferry option - wd prefer to fly there & back in one day. Also how soon before this date will the game date and time be confirmed

No idea if this is expensive or what face value of tickets is, have never been to premiership game. There are other companies like Abbey Travel and that offer football packages including tickets & accommodation:

Don't book too early in advance as either Sky or ESPN could opt to show the game live and so it may be moved to either early or late Sat or early or late Sunday kick-off.
Time and date would normally be confirmed 4 weeks or so in advance of game.

OK I can help here, Just got back from Man United Vs Blackburn Rovers game ,with my two young sons.

To get tickets, we joined the "one united' supporters club on the Man. United website.

This then entitles you to apply for tickets for the games. If the tickets are over subscribed for the game, then you can buy the tickets on the "Ticket Exchange" on the Man United website. The key to all this is to join the one united supporters club.

If your son is quite young, you might want to look for tickets in the family stand located in the North West section of the stadium.

Have got sorted out with tickets from a season ticket holder. Am looking at game against Burnley on 16th Jan currently set for 3.00 p.m. At what point can I be 100% sure that the time wont be changed or can that happen a matter of days before the game itself. I just want to book flights for the day but am afraid the game might be changed fm 3.00 to that evening.

As bren said you'll have to wait until Sky and ESPN publish the matches they are broadcasting live in the new year to be 100% sure. This usually happens mid December.

Tks NorfBank. Once Sky & ESPN publish the matches and if the Burnley game is not listed as being broadcast live is there even the slightest chance that this could change after that. Or am I 100%% safe in booking my flights once the matches are listed in mid December.

It seems that sky have announced the games for that weekend and the burnley game is not one of the Arsneal is and I cant remember the other so it looks as if you are safe enough to book now

Thanks for that Coleen. I also see on the Man United web page that the time has been cofirmed for 3.00 p.m. With both the confirmation of time and the fact that this game is not listed as being broadcast live mean that there is absolutely NO possibility of it being either changed to another day or another time. In other words am I 100% safe to book my flights at this stage.

Still a possibility it may be on ESPN on the Monday night - a good possibility too I might add seeing that Burnley are on a good run at the moment.
Hold off for the ESPN list.

Holy God this is a mighty complicated affair. TG I have all ye knowledgeable people to guide me in the right direction. I am not soccer savvy and have never heard of ESPN so thank you so much for your advice. Have you any idea when ESPN release details of 2010 games they will be showing. Only have details up to 26th Dec09 on their website. If the Burnley game is not listed am I 100% safe then to go ahead and book flights or are there any other issues I need to consider i.e. is there any other possibility that game date could be changed. Thank you so much to everybody who has posted here and I wouldnt have had a clue of what needed to be checked out beforehand. I thought getting the tickets would be the hardest bit! (phew)

there is always a possibility things could be changed. im going over on dec 26th to a london game and found out it has been changed to 1pm. i should still make it but only just. if you could wait until two weeks before game you would be safe enough

The only thing you have to look out for now is a switch to the Monday to facilitate transmission by ESPN, once that list comes out you are as safe as can be to go ahead with your booking.
I ha one occasion last season where I had to change flights three times for one match!!
Try emailing ESPN UK and find out when they are releasing their January list.
I would imagine it will be pretty soon.
Good luck.
