I want to buy a decent, reliable business PC - not interested in being able to run films or such other "bells and whistles". Anyone recommend the best place to go for good prices.
I heard that there is an area on the Dell website where thy sell off machines made to a particular spec but have not been purchased. Anyone recommend??

The local Euronics place to me has Lenovo laptops (250Gb HDD, 3GB RAM) for €499!! G630 I think they are.

Many common-or-garden laptops are quite good these days in terms of both reliability and performance.

Thaqt beign said, my business-use IBM Thinkpad lasted 6 years before the HD failed - that was with up to 36 hours continuous use, secure deletion of client files, regular full anti-virue checks, etc, all of which take their toll.

Lenovo have taken over this business.

Dell, HP and TOshiba also make good laptops.
