Stanstead to Trafalgar Square

Hi all,
heading to London this weekend. Flying with Ryanair to Stanstead and staying in hotel at trafalgar square. From checking various sites it looks like i'm aiming for the Charing Cross tube station. The best way i've found so far is train from stanstead to liverpool street, central line to tottenham court road and then northern line to charing cross. I've never been to London so just wondering if this is the best way or if anyone has any advice?

If going to Tottenham court road station which is on corner of oxford street- you would easily walk to Trafalgar square from here say a 5 minute walk. It would be a straight walk down from here, no turn offs

Try the journey planner on www.tfl.gov.uk, start at Stansted Airport(Station or Stop) and finish at Trafalgar Square (Place of Interest). It will give you times, options and maps with detailed instructions on how to navigate and information about any engineering works or difficulties you may encounter.

If you used the advanced options you can also specify the time you are likely to be leaving stansted at or the time you wish to arrive.

Depending on exactly where around Trafalgar Square your hotel is (pretty sure there are none right on the square) then Charing Cross, Leicester Square or even Piccadilly Circus could be the closest Tube.

Either way train to Liverpool Street and then hop on the Central Line from there will work .. then change at Tottenham Ct Road for Leicester Square / Charing Cross .. or change at Holborn for Piccadilly Circus

Yes it's walkable from Tottenham Court Road .. but if you're on the tube already and have luggage probably no point.
