Has anybody been to a Center Parcs resort in the UK or the Continent ?
We are thinking of going to the one near Bristol for 4 days, after hearing good reports, but would like a second opinion.

We have a 2-1/2 yr old and are told there is lots for that age group to do there.

Any experience/thought/opinions welcome.

Thanks, JR

When I was a kid (and living in Germany), we went to Center Parcs in the Netherlands pretty much every year. It was absolutely excellent. Little bungalows scattered around a large park; many other kids to play with; everything fenced off and kid-friendly; and best of all, a huge tropical water park in the center of it all. Go for it! It's an excellent choice when you have small kids.

J.R. how could you even consider going without me? ;)

You might get some info from reviews on Google.

I've stayed in this one a few times, but they were all-adult trips. The reason for using Centre Parcs was cheap accommodation and easy access to the Nurburgring. Four bedrooms per big chalet, two bathrooms, kitchen / dining-room lounge, terrace. Food in the central dining-area (breakfast / brunch) exceptional, dinner was usually off-site or a boozy barbeque at the chalet. Avoid the Henry VIII "Irish Pub" (yeah, we were puzzled too) like the plague.

You're in the middle of the beautiful Eifel Mountains with loads to do and see. They've been rebranded as SunParks Eifel instead of Centre Parcs Hellbachsee

We were at Center Parcs in Longleat, UK this year with an 11 and 14 year old and also two years ago, when we also brought my mother in law with us. Both times we had a great holiday - there are lots of activities from age 2 to 80 and the actual location is just beautiful. It's also next door to Longleat Safari Park which is a great day out. The only thing I'll say is that Longleat is very hilly so try and get a villa near the main Plaza where the swimming dome & restaurants are.

Just to close out this thread - we spent 5 days in Center Parcs Longleat and really enjoyed it. Chalet was top class, and there were plenty of activities for our 2-1/2 yr old. We'll definitely be going back in the coming years.
