Hi,I bought a Samsung taco in xtra vision about 3 weeks ago.

It keeps freezing on me.

With phones ive had in the past ,if something went wrong the supplier either sent it away( took at least 7 days) to have repaired or I brought it to a mobile phone repair centre myself,I would have had the phone several months in this case.

Im trying to find out if ,based on the fact that Ive only had it three weeks,Im entitled to have it replaced? Or can they insist that it be sent away for repair?
Thanks

I think you have 14 days to bring the phone back to get a replacement or money back otherwise its repair, and 28 days to cancel a phone contract.. Had the same problem with a samsung a couple of years ago although it was with the car phone warehouse..

I got a new Nokia phone in March and within 2 weeks the volume went low, like someone was distant and then the screen went blank etc...each time the shop sent it away for repair. After 3 visits to the repair shop ( and getting a replacement from the shop while mine was getting repaired) it was deemed not fixable anymore and no more could be done...so I had to buy another new phone :(

I think you were had..didn't you ask for a refund?
Last Nokia I bought was in 3Gstore Wexford..after two weeks the screen went white. I brought it back straight away and they offered me an exchange for another phone or a refund. I took the new phone and had no probs with it since.

Hi and thanks for the replies.
Im going to bring it back and see what the reaction is.

I just wondered if there would be any additional issues because I didnt buy it in one of those phone shops ,I bought it in xtra vision.
I found the recipt and I bought it on the 8th Aug.
It was 149.99 so not cheap.
Could anyone tell me if I have to accept a repair? I have read the faulty goods act(thanks ) but Im still unclear.
Cheers

the rule of the 3 r's (daughter did this in business studies)
1. repair,
2.replace
3 refund

Thanks for that...
Can I ask if I have a choice of the above?
Or do I have to accept whatever the shop says?
Cheers

Just read further on the faulty goods act,and it would appear they can offer a repair,and only then if it contuinues to be faulty can a replacement or refund be offered.
In other words it does look like they can just offer to repair,which is very inconvienient as it means I have to do without my phone for up to two weeks! doesnt seem fair.:{

As previously said, on the third time returned, you can ask for a refund.. And yes, you will be without your phone for 2 weeks..

Update ;
Brought phone back,it was obvious that the screen kept freezing.
There was absolutly no problem whatsoever and I was given a new one.
They didnt have the taco in stock so I got another phone to the same value.
Well done to xtra vision for great customer service,Im delighted.
Thanks for all the replies.

yeah Cat101.They were basically saying that I kept dropping it and had a photocopy of the inside of my phone "showing" where it was knackered ? I did get a reduced price from the shop on my new phone.

Glad to hear you got sorted thedaras...
