i've kind of been most places in ireland as has most of the others but wouldn't rule it out if it was somewhere decent or something a bit different ?, i think it's just that bit more exciting heading to the airport and all that though,still....open to all suggestions

This site looks pretty good [broken link removed]
Info on stag nights/weekends in europe, uk and Ireland :)

I'm just back from celebrating a mates 40th (It's the new stag do for oldies don't you know) in Dusseldorf Germay. Would Highly reccomend it cost €400 for Aerlingus Flights and 3 nights in a 4 star hotel. The old town is excellent and has 100's of bars and a few nightclubs to choose from that open all night. Locals are really friendly. During the day you can do a Rhine cruise to clear the head or if your up to it you've a couple of decent football teams within a 50km radius that you could pop along to see to savour the athmosphere (what football crowds were like before the advent of Sky)

Nottingham is still off the radar for most people going over. Handy enough for east midlands airport (plenty of buses and taxis), flights and stay reasonable. Plus the city isn't too big and isn't overrun with other stag parties. Plenty of bars, clubs etc too.

Though I suppose it is worth noting the high gun crime rate in Nottingham...

Blackpool if you want it cheap....there are loads of hen and stags partys though. (bonus is all the girls dress up in all the sexy fancy dress gear)

I reckon Edinburgh would be ideal for a stag, best of both worlds some nice sights and some great bars/clubs:cool:

Edinburgh, Newcastle & Birmingham are all places recommended by Mr. Duck - his own stag was in Brum and they had a ball

Bangor in north Wales is a great location. Get the ferry across and a train to Bangor. Small town with lots of bars and restaurants. Locals are friendly to Paddies too. I went on a stag weekend there a few years ago. I was expecting a dull weekend but it was great.

Newcastle is great craic, lovely modern city. My favourite is Liverpool. Great City, Great People - try The Magical Mystery Tour. Even if you don't like the Beatles, it's good fun and lasts about 2hrs. You visit Penny Lane and their childhood homes and it finishes at the Cavern Club in Matthew Street and off you go... About £15 a head.. Flights direct to Liverpool with Ryanair. Avoid match weekends as the prices shoot up. You can also fly to Manchester with Air Lingus and the train is direct from Manchester airport to Lime Street in Liverpool Central. Try Booking.com for reasonalby priced hotels.

Would second liverpool, love it. People are so friendly and helpful and the accent is so warm. lots to see and great shopping too. Only a 35 minute flight.

Blackpool if you want it cheap

You're not serious are you?

I strolled though it last June bank holiday and thought it was a total kip, run down, jam packed with scangers, people falling around the street baloobas drunk in the middle of the day. If you want a pool cue broken over you, a pint glass in the face and a head butt then I'd say its defo the place to go.

That might sound snobbish but I'm not into high brow, just personal safety !!

It's really embarrasing to see people still indulging in this disgusting celebration. What exactly are you cel......ng, i have a bar cum function rooms and am doing very well, my customers tell me if i ever let in you drunkards, then they will leave. I agree totally with them. It's no wonder lots and lots of premises are now totally banning them.

Why are you embarrassed by people having a stag's party. Judging by your comments, not too sure anyone would be too interested in your function room, except that is your customers... Keep them happy, you need them....

Both Liverpool and Newcastle are great party towns.

And you don't have to pay sky high prices for booze and a room, as you would do in Ireland

Newcastle is tops. Buffalo joes across the bridge in gateshead must be the best bar ever!! Great venue for stag lads. One word of advice though, keep the group together as the town centre gets a bit hairy after the clubs close, just like the shows on sky!

well it's looking like newcastle just going by most of the comments it seems to be the most popular place so far...
whats it like to go there early feb ? prob odd time to go but wedding is in march, also can anyone recommend a decent (but reasonably priced) hotel that's somewhat centrally located ?,and any good bars/activities maybe too.

not much to ask ay ;-)
