Blood on Carpet ?

Oh dear god, what have you done?

I swear, that honey bee thread was a joke, stunt bees were used in the filming...

I think so, try to soak a cloth and wet the patch, put salt on the spot and leave to soak in they try the damp cloth again to wash the spot.

You could probably try some sort of stain remover but I would be worried about fading the carpet.

Are Stain Devils any good?

Never used them myself but they have specific versions for specific stains - including one for blood, ice cream, eggs etc - the aftermath of a typical Friday in the Caveat household then really :)

Try the specific stain devil for blood stains, they are usually pretty good. Test first in an inconspicuous area.

First thing is - Do not use hot water - cold or tepid water only.

Hot water will " cook" the blood and leave a permanent light brown stain.

If you know whose blood it is, get them to lick it off.
Your spittle has something in it that can dissolve your blood.

:)

ONQ

Hydrogen peroxide or meat tenderizer the best way to remove blood from anything.

If these dont work then nothing will.

Meat tenderizer?

Oh so THAT's why-!

No. No! NO!!!

I gotta stop reading this thread...

Hydrogen peroxide is not bleach. Bleach it a totally different product. You mix peroxide with bleach for it to oxidise.

ok i'll word it another way. Hydrogen peroxide is not hair bleach.

They are 2 totally different/seperate products that do not work unless they are mixed together.

The hydrogen peroxide will not discolour or lighten the carpet in any way.

Hydrogen Peroxide can be safely used to remove a carpet stain, imho, if its strength is no higher than 3% or 10 vol. Any higher could damage the fibres.

Hydrogen peroxide is never used in its raw form for hair colouring nowadays as most colorant companies create a peroxide based developer with many added conditioning ingredients etc..

The hydrogen peroxide will not discolour or lighten the carpet in any way.

As long as the user is careful.

From the wikipedia link:

"Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful bleaching agent"

And, as Armada said:

"3% H2O2 is effective at treating fresh (red) blood-stains in clothing and on other items. It must be applied to clothing before blood stains can be accidentally "set" with heated water."

Fair enough, Hydrogen peroxide does not = hair bleach but it is the main, active ingredient.
