I have an Ipod and have purchased songs from Itunes...my question is, (probably blindingly simplistic  ) but how do I transfer the songs from my Itunes account on the laptop to my Ipod?

You should have got a lead with the ipod that links the ipod to the uSB port on laptop

Just connect the two

I assume you actually downloaded the songs from the iTunes store after purchase?

The downloaded tunes end up in two places in the i-tunes program. When you download your first tune a new folder is created below the "your i-pod" button called "purchased tunes",you click on this folder and your purchased tunes can be seen. Then click and drag the tune you want over the"your i-pod" button and its sync-ed to your i-pod.The purchased music can also be found in the "music" folder listed alphbetically.

Another thing to be careful off, dont connect your white cord to a USB port or it won't work.

Connect it to a normal computer port, looks remarkably like a USB but works differently.

Eh? Are you sure about that? I thought that iPods used USB? Do you mean Firewireor something? "Normal computer port" is meaningless.

Direct quote from my iPod nano instructions

"Connect iPod nano to your computer port (not to USB port on keyboard)"

I dont make this stuff up!

that would refer to the usb port on the computer as oposed to the usb port on the kybd. Ths usb port on the computer is more hight powered ... according to the [broken link removed]

I hope this isn't the wrong place for this question, but how do I put songs from my iTunes library onto my Son's iPod Nano? When I plug it in,it starts to synch & the Nano's not big enough for everything!

As stated, on a Mac, the keyboard has two usb ports, however these do not have enough power for an ipod. The usb ports on the computer do

It's set to automatic sync and will fill the iPod automatically once connected. As you're probably doing, when you connect it stop/cancel the sync. Click on the iPod icon in the devices part of the iTunes menu and you should see a tab for settings. Within there you should see a setting for syncing manually or automatically. Select the manual box. Then you just drag and drop from music view to the iPod icon in devices.
