I know of lots of people whom are now being told that their pay will be frozen.
On top of all the latest cuts,is this fair?
Is it realistic to expect a pay rise in this enviorment?
What if the employer couldnt use the |Inability to pay clause, would it still be reasonable to expect not to have your pay raised?

Im thinking regardless of inability to pay that we shouldnt expect a pay rise, given that so many companys are strugling and this could be the straw that breaks the camels back..

Im also thinking that For those who still have a job it would be better to hold onto the job rather than push the employer ,when so many have had to reduce the cost of their products, meaning less money coming in etc.
What do the AAm posters think?

I know that if I had the choice of a pay cut/freeze or unemployment, I;d take the 1st option.

There's no hard and fast rule, if you are worth more to your employer and that employer is making money, and looks like they will be making money over the next 12-24 months, then a pay rise is not unreasonable. If your employer is not making money and/or is borrowing money to survive then a pay rise does seem unreasonable.

What does that say for certain sections of society that will risk their whole company (and many others jobs) if their employers try to adapt to the fall in profits-revenue, by reducing their overheads . . ;)

Really though, whats fair about capitalism . .

From my own experience in several jobs, a hard worker can be rewarded the same as a "cute hooer" that knows how to lick the appropriate back sides (or look busy) . .

Capitalism is not about rewarding those who have worked hardest, more those who can bend or use the system to suit their own personal gain. .

Capitalism is about rewarding those whose skills are in demand. When times are good and company profits are booming, the bosses feel good about themselves and want to hire lickspittle to stroke their monstrous egos. When times are bad on the other hand and company losses are plunging, the bosses feel terrible and want to hire lickspittle to stroke their monstrous egos.

Who got the big book of clichés last Christmas.
