John Gormley prompting Bertie for Lord Mayor

I almost aspirated my croissant this morning on hearing Gormless putting forward the bould Bertie for Lord Mayor. Is he really serious? Does he not take tribunal appearances into consideration? Isn't there a chance that Bertie's famous memory lapses could strike again?
