Does anyone know a few good places to buy golf clubs in cork ?
All i know of is Mahers in the City and Havana Bobs in Ballincollig.
Im looking to purchase a new set of irons at a reasonable price.

There's a pretty good place at the back of that commercial park across from the CUH in Wilton. Abrekebabra and a betting shop are at the front of it, it's just before the petrol station and xtra-vision.

Golfworks - think it closed though. Mahers and Nevada Bobs are good.

Are you new to golf?

The main three golf equipment outlets in the Beautiful City are Maher's in Penrose Whart, Nevada Bob's in Ballincollig and The Pro Shop in the Dosco Ind. Park on the South Douglas Road. They stock all the top brands and cheaper ones also. They also carry a good range of second hand clubs. I've bought a lot of clubs in each of the above and have only good things to say about their products and service. Pazion Trading on the Tramore Road also do a complete range of golfing equipment. They don't stock any of the top brands but their woods and irons are good value and their rescue clubs are as good as you'll find. They're very similar to Taylormades and "do exactly what it says on the tin!" They cost around €45 each. All the numbers of the aforementioned are in the phone book. Most of the golf club professionals in the city and county stock clubs as well and would be worth checking out. Golf Works on High St. in Wilton closed some time ago, which is a pity as they always carried a good range of equipment.

What kind of irons are you hoping to buy? Another option for you is to buy online. A few years ago I bought a set of second hand Callaways from www.golfbidder.co.uk and recently I bought a set of second hand Pings on ebay. Both sets were in great condition and much cheaper than any set I could buy locally. I've also bought a few clubs from www.callawaygolfpreowned.com All these sites have a very accurate rating system for the conditions of their clubs - in fact, I've found that they're usually in better condition than stated. Delivery generally takes less than a week.

Just remember that, if you buy clubs from outside the E.U., you may have to pay duty on them.
