Shabby treatment by lending institution

If you were treated very unfairly by a bank would you be inclined to take your business elsewhere. I'm a small personal customer.
 
Absolutely!!! I would make sure to put it all in writing and send it to the branch manager and customer service manager in the head office. There's a reason why service, in general, is so much better in countries like Canada, US, Germany; when people get bad service they complain.
 
I intend doing so and have decided to close my account. I agree about other countries, we allow ourselves to be walked on by these institutions. Trouble is they all seem to be the same in our little country.
 
I changed banks because the one I was with were terrible. You have every right to move between banks as much as you want. Compare and find the best one for you.
 
I'd also probably make a point of telling them why you are leaving - it may have no immediate benefit but if enough people do it, they will have to take notice.

Have to disagree , I've always found the service in Canada and the US to be quite appalling.
Always thought Irish Bank staff in general to be extremely helpul and polite.
May have something to do with the dreadful wages they pay cashiers in North America !
