Personal trainer - south dublin

I am looking for a personal trainer in Dalkey area. If anyone has first hand experience of one and could recommend I'd appreciate it.

I can recommend one. Yourself. And the best part..it's free. There was a recent thread here recently about personal trainers. My view is that (now more than ever as our standards of living are expected to decrease by 12% over the next 2 years) they are completely unnecessary (and might I add extravagant) expenditure. You can set yourself your own targets and use your own self motivation to achieve them. Use the internet to download menus, fitness programs etc., all free of charge.

I am looking for a recommendation of someone to support me while I do it myself! I have tried to do it alone and unfortunetly I am not achieving the goals that I want to.

I am sorry that you feel that it is an extravagant expenditure but I don't drink or smoke and I work hard with 4 small children so yes, this is the treat to myself for my hard work!! I'll happily sacrifice something to feel good in my clothes again.

So....can no one recommend a personal trainer?!

If you call into any gym in your area, you will see ads for same. Any of them should be happy to meet with you for a chat and to discuss what you're looking for and what they can offer. Such a meeting may be better for you than an anonymous recommendation on a messageboard ?

In Loughlinstown Leisure Centre Gym there used to be qualified attendants who would be able to help you and it's quite reasonable. I say 'used to be' because I don't know it they're still there, what with cutbacks, etc.

Honestly, read a few books. Most of the "advice" I've gotten from preening young things swanning around gyms looking to chat someone up... sorry, I mean "personal trainers", has been worthless.
