Hi guys, what hotel would be handy for staying in if attending a concert in Phoenix Park in September......walking distance if possible?

Thanks.

I think the nearest hotel is the Aisling but to be honest, I wouldn't stay around there, bit of a red light area. Dublin Bus run buses from the City Centre to concerts in the park so I would stay more centrally and get the bus up. Alternatively, Parkgate St on the 25/66/67 route so maybe the Clarion at Liffey Valley?

Thought Clarion might be a bit far out?......would prob need to get a taxi in would i for concert at 6 p.m. in evening?......maybe i would be better in city centre?

Travel lodge on the navan road might suit just a short walk then to castleknock gates into the park, which isnt far from where they usually have the concerts in the park

havent been in it in years so cannot really remember what its like

The Hilton in Kilmainham is a nice Hotel probably 35 mins walk from concert through the Islandbridge gate and up the south circular road.

travel lodge would be the cheapest, theres also a nice pub nearby that does hot food till late,

You should consider the West County hotel on the Old Lucan road in Chapelizod as well. It is not a luxury hotel, but is very cosy and in a quiet spot just 10 mins walk from the Chapelizod road entrance to the Phoenix Park.

The Park Inn in Smithfield is a really nice hotel and wouldn't be too far to walk. You might want to check it out first as I had heard a rumour that it might be closing down, don't know if its true or not!

There's the Crowne Plaza beside the blanchardstown shopping centre. You prob wouldn't walk it (although not impossible) but you could get the 38 bus from Castleknock Village (near phoenix part gates) which would take about 10/15 mins and bring you to about 5 mins from hotel.

Also the Hotel and Country club in Castleknock...again you wouldn't walk it probably but about 5-10 mins in a cab.

It's less than 5 mins to the bus stop for the 25/66/67 which stops on Parkgate St.

Read the reviews for the Travellodge on the Navan Road on tripadvisor, they're not good!

Its only going to take 60 mins to walk into city center from there. Never mind hoping on a bus, train or a luas which will take a lot less time.

Its not that bad around there. That hotel seem to mainly deal with coachs of tourists. Seems an ok hotel, I've never stayed there, but been in the lobby lots. You're beside the train and luas and bus too.

I'd second the Kilmainham Hilton. I live close to it and often walk to the Park which is no more then 15-20 mins away. Good deals there at the moment but no doubt will jack up the prices for the concert...
