Re: seved with civil law

You owe them money - so pay them back

Meet with the representitives from the hotel and start to work out a payment plan.

Absolutely - work out a payment plan. At least pay them what you will have to pay the solicitor.

What has your solicitor advised? Can you try to come to some arrangement with the hotel to pay it back in instalments? Without more details it's very hard to give you advice.

I can't see much purpose of using a Solicitor. The OP has admitted that he owes the money - they are now going to have to work out a definitive payment plan with the Hotel. There is little point in running around looking for a way out of this debt. I just hope all enjoyed themselves building up the debt.

Forget about a solicitor make a proposal of how much you can pay them per week/month make sure its reasonable taking into account all the means at your disposal if they don't accept your proposal let them take you to court and a judge will decide whats reasonable
