The details on the website say:

You get a great bonus rate of 5.15% AER variable for amounts up to €10,000 in your account in year one and a very competitive standard variable rate of 4% AER on all other amounts up to €1,000,000 thereafter.

Cant see anywhere that tells you what happens after the year is up.

Does this mean the rate is 4% for the full balance after year one?

Anybody know?

Its ok - A read of the T&C's says this:

3.2 For the bonus period, you will earn a bonus interest rate on balances up to €10,000 in your account. You will earn the standard interest rate on-
(a) any balances in your account of €10,000 or more during the bonus period; and
(b) any balances in your account after the first anniversary of the opening of your account.

Has anybody tried closing this account after a year and opening a new one to avail of the bonus rate again? Any problems with this?

Coming up to my anniversary and when the rate drops from 4% to 2.1% I won't be waiting around

I tried that in my local branch (because I have it a year now) and was told that 1 Flexi Saver active per person only. So I asked them if I close the account wait a week and than come back if that would work and was told, sure. The system just don't want to accounts active and account closure are done centraly so we need to wait for the processing to happen.

But YMMV because it just sounded to crazy for my taste but I will be back next week to try open one.
